Rockies Rally Past Dodgers in Spring Tune-Up

For a moment, it looked like the Dodgers might deliver another performance similar to their dominant win over the Royals the day before.

After allowing a run in the first inning, Los Angeles answered in the second. Familiar names led the charge as Max Muncy, Andy Pages, and Teoscar Hernández sparked a rally that pushed the Dodgers ahead 3–1.

Colorado chipped away with a run in the third, but the game turned in the fifth inning.

Looking to show last season is firmly behind him, Blake Treinen took the mound to start the inning. Unfortunately, things unraveled quickly. Treinen issued two walks and allowed three singles, and the Rockies capitalized, plating enough runs to take a 6–3 lead they would not relinquish.

The Dodgers had their chances to respond but could only scratch one more run for the remainder of the game. Over the final four innings, Los Angeles put the tying runs on base multiple times, but each opportunity slipped away as they were unable to deliver the key hit. Final score read Dodgers 4 – Rockies 6.

That’s the nature of Spring Training baseball. The stars are beginning to see more action, and for the most part they are producing. As for Treinen, it was simply a rough outing. The Dodgers know what he brings to the bullpen and will give the veteran plenty of opportunity to smooth out the early-spring bumps before the games begin to count.
