After going homerless through their first five games, the Dodgers have found their power stroke. Los Angeles has now launched 13 home runs over its last six contests, including four in a 7–5 win over the Rockies.
The game wasn’t without late drama. Holding a 7–3 lead in the ninth, Dodgers pitching faltered, issuing two walks, hitting a batter, and uncorking a wild pitch to fuel a Colorado rally. A run-scoring single cut the deficit and briefly brought tension back into the dugout before Los Angeles finally shut the door.
Today’s Notes
Dalton Rushing continued his surge, homering in consecutive starts. His 450-foot drive to center was one of the loudest swings of the spring.
James Tibbs III went even deeper, launching a 458-foot blast for his second straight game with a home run.
The infield competition remains tight. Noah Miller went 1-for-2 with an RBI and continues to strengthen his case for a roster spot.
In a family footnote, Kyle Karros, son of Dodgers legend Eric Karros, homered for Colorado with a 391-foot shot in the sixth.
On a less encouraging note, right-hander Gavin Stone has been shut down after a setback in his surgically repaired shoulder — a discouraging development after what appeared to be a promising return last week.
