Have a Game Hyeseong Kim!

Just five games into spring, Hyeseong Kim is playing like someone still trying to make the roster — not like a member of the 2025 World Series championship club. The fan favorite showed relentless energy Wednesday afternoon, going 3-for-2 at the plate, stealing a pair of bases, driving in a run, and scoring one himself. If that wasn’t enough, he added a couple of highlight-worthy plays in center field. With Kiké Hernández sidelined until at least the start of the regular season, Dave Roberts has to be encouraged by another versatile “Swiss Army knife” option emerging.

The Arizona Diamondbacks jumped on Roki Sasaki early, scoring three runs in the first inning to grab the lead. But for the second straight day, the Los Angeles Dodgers responded, battling back before eventually pulling away for a 10–7 win.

Today’s Notes

Sasaki was simply not sharp in his outing. He surrendered three earned runs, walked two, and struck out three. Of his 36 pitches, only 17 were strikes — less than half — as he struggled to find consistency in the zone.

Edwin Díaz quietly made his Dodger debut in the fourth inning. In typical Díaz fashion, he was efficient and aggressive, throwing 12 pitches with nine strikes. He allowed one hit, struck out one, and induced two routine flyouts.

Through the first five games, the Dodgers’ offense has already turned the lineup over in a single inning three different times. That’s the clearest example yet of being selective, not just patient — forcing pitchers into the zone, attacking the right pitches, and creating relentless pressure from top to bottom.
