Dodger starter Tyler Glasnow made his spring debut today at Camelback Ranch, and the results were eye-catching for several reasons. Facing the Chicago White Sox, Glasnow threw 33 pitches over two-plus innings, 20 of them for strikes. He struck out the side in the first inning on just 14 pitches, finished with four strikeouts, did not issue a walk, and allowed only one run.
The 6’8” right-hander told Fox Sports Net broadcaster Kirsten Watson that he added 20 pounds during the offseason and said his mechanics have never felt better. The radar gun backed that up, with his fastball averaging 96.7 mph and touching 97.1 multiple times. A healthy, stronger Glasnow could spell serious trouble for opposing lineups this season.
Today’s Notes
It’s beginning to feel like it’s Hyeseong Kim’s world and everyone else is just living in it. Starting at second base, Kim delivered a go-ahead Home Run in the sixth inning, helping the Dodgers grab the lead and then hold on for a 7–6 victory.
Speaking of resilience, the Dodgers — who came from behind 48 times last year — have now done it in back-to-back spring games. It may seem like a small thing in February, but maintaining the habits that carried this club to a championship can pay major dividends once the regular season begins.
It’s also worth noting that the last Dodger to homer in 2025 is the same player who ignited the power surge in 2026. Catcher Will Smith became the first Dodger to go yard this spring, sending a 90-mph four-seamer over the left-field fence in the fifth inning.
And keep an eye on top prospect Josue De Paula. He went 2-for-3 with another RBI today and looks like a young player on a mission this spring.
