Dodgers Erupt for 10 in Third, Roll Past Angels 13–5

The Freeway Series opener had a little bit of everything Sunday afternoon: a crisp start, a sudden unraveling, and one inning that got away in a hurry.

The Dodgers broke things open with a 10-run third inning, turning a close game into a 13–5 win over the Angels.

For two innings, Angels right-hander George Klassen looked comfortable, even striking out the side in the second. Then came the third — and the momentum flipped fast.

A leadoff homer from Teoscar Hernández set the tone, and from there the inning snowballed. Walks mounted, pitches missed their spots, and the Dodgers took full advantage. By the time it ended, ten runs had crossed and the game had a very different feel.

Shohei Ohtani delivered the biggest blow with a bases-clearing double, while Hernández added another key hit as part of the rally. When the inning finally ended, just about everyone in the lineup had made an appearance.

Amid the offensive surge, Tyler Glasnow quietly turned in a strong final tune-up. The right-hander worked five innings, allowed one run, and kept hitters off balance with a steady mix of off-speed pitches — the kind of outing that checks all the boxes heading into the regular season.

The Angels found some late offense, highlighted by two home runs from Jorge Soler and a multi-hit day from Mike Trout, but the early damage proved too much to overcome.

The Dodgers added on late and cruised to the finish, continuing a spring trend of timely hitting and deep lineup production.

Next up, the Freeway Series shifts to Dodger Stadium, where the two clubs will wrap up their final tune-ups before the games start to count.
